Aegie said:“ I see where you are coming from but I disagree. In large part, I disagree because tape and markers (or other physical solutions- wire, rubber bands, etc.) are there for everyone and anyone can use these tools because it is impossible to police that kind of behavior. ”Nobody at their end can stop you from drawing a dot on your screen but that's still isn't an excuse to condone cheating. If they really intended everyone to have a permanent dot in the middle of their screens they would've implemented it into the game already so you wouldn't have to rely on 3rd party cheating software or markers. Aegie said:“ The other reason I disagree is because of the following:The issue does not arise when you are firing from the hip/sprinting (you know, when the sights are really all over the place), only when you are aiming down sight (you know, intentionally aiming down the sight to be more accurate). Yet if you shoot from a full sprint, guess what, the center of the COF is dead center screen and, although they do not put a dot at center screen, they do center the cross hairs on the center of the screen and thus the center of the COF.Now, when you aim down sights with any scope that is not itself an overlay (the 12x scope and NV scopes being examples) any movement means that the only graphic available for judging your shot is not centered on the screen and thus not centered on the COF.snip ”I'm not justifying their terrible mechanics in any way. I want the sights properly fixed hence why I upvoted and posted in the reddit thread but what I'm trying to convey here is that to unf.

the misaligned sights the change should be at their end, not some local ghetto fix that gives an unfair advantage over people that just like you just think their aim is off when it's actually the game mechanics being completely screwed. They should fix the game from the core, not us with some band-aid tweaks. Phreec said:“ They should fix the game from the core, not us with some band-aid tweaks. ”I absolutely agree with this but I still do not think it is cheating to know where exact center is located on your screen.I also doubt they intentionally implemented misleading graphics when you are aiming down sight as if they intend for your accuracy to be handicapped (they already severely handicap movement speed) precisely when you are trying to aim well whereas they provide a crutch when you are not.

It would be pretty difficult to explain why they intentionally made some scopes work like scopes and the others just deceive you.If this is true, if they are intentionally disrupting our ability to aim with a tool that we cert into precisely to have better aiming ability, then I'm out- that is the last straw. Millions of dollars and they implement a flinch mechanic that any bright elementary school child could tell was biased and then take four months to fix it.

Meanwhile, they take a game where the core gameplay revolves around judging where a projectile will go and intentionally make the very tools that are supposed to aid in this actually just get in the way.Honestly, I think I would have caught onto this sooner if I had thought, for just one second, that a FPS would actually do something like that. So unbelievable that it took hard video evidence and I still had to watch twice and try for myself. What is funny is that I actually find myself wanting to play other FPS games just to feel the satisfaction of hitting what you are aiming at.

It is subtle, true, but before I could not put my finger on why I felt like other games felt so much tighter and now I think I can. You know what? I'm not really willing to let this thread die without a direct response from a SOE rep.Is anything ever going to be done about this core gameplay issue? Will we ever see a time when aiming down sights properly shows you where is the center of your COF? At the very least, will we ever be given the green light to give ourselves proper sights so those of us who care about aiming will actually have useful (as opposed to misleading) information regarding where the projectiles are likely to go?Sad really that so many people on the forums care so much about so many ridiculous things and yet a core gameplay issue for a FPS like bullets going where your sights are telling you they should go is left relatively ignored. What does it say about a FPS when the most central element, aiming your weapon, is done so poorly? StuntPoteten said:“ solution is to get a teamspeak plugin that shows the center of the screen.

Deggy said:“ Okay, so I'm not allowed to use an overlay that displays information about PS2.It doesn't display information about PS2. It tells me where the center of my screen is.

How is that information about PS2? Deggy said:“ Okay, so I'm not allowed to use an overlay that displays information about PS2.It doesn't display information about PS2. It tells me where the center of my screen is. How is that information about PS2? ”Haven't bothered to read the EULA and won't bother either, but I'm pretty sure they'd expect you to apply simple common sense to it and that they mean anything that aids with the game in any way that's a third party product. It's so sad what this generation has come to, having to find any crutch they can. Is the game perfect? No, is the sights a bit dodgy?

Sure, but that's intended, if they didn't want it to be intended they would change it. I guess it's yet another thing people use for an excuse to why they died.I find it strange how people openly admit to using these crutches, and yes, it is, it's giving an unintended edge that's currently not in the game and I bet the majority of players don't. ”Well, I'll be honest, I also occasionally place my finger on the screen to mark the location of an altitude line on my tank crosshair.Since Zoom Optics are stupid, and they don't actually zoom in on the drop lines.Does that give me an unintended edge? If it does, I'm not sorry at all. This is the same thing. If something like a pencil dot or a finger on a screen can give an 'unintended edge' that's bad design. You can't check for that.
